Historical Timeline
Year - 1888 (Foundation and Origins of Colours): Founded in 1888 in the industrial town of Walsall, in the West Midlands, under the name Walsall Town Swifts. The club was formed from the merger of two fierce local rivals: Walsall Town (founded in 1874 with roots in the local cricket club) and Walsall Swifts (founded in 1879 by young workers from the leather workshops). The aim was to pool resources to form a single representative club. They adopted red shirts and white shorts, later incorporating black detailing to emulate the traditional flag of the Black Country industrial region.

Year - 1892 (Founding Members of the Second Division): After shortening its official name to Walsall F.C. in 1895, the club made its mark in its early years by becoming a founding member of the Football League Second Division in 1892, competing in the second tier of English football.

Year - 1990 (Move to Bescot Stadium): After playing for almost a century (from 1896 to 1990) at the historic, steeply sloping Fellows Park stadium, the club’s board, led by chairman Barrie Blower, spearheaded the move to the modern Bescot Stadium (Poundland Bescot Stadium) in 1990, providing the club with facilities that met the new safety regulations for British football.

Year - 2015 (First National Final at Wembley): In the 2014–15 season, the club reached a national cup final at Wembley Stadium for the first time in its history spanning more than 120 years, qualifying for the Football League Trophy final under manager Dean Smith, where they lost to Bristol City in front of more than 20,000 ‘Saddlers’ supporters.
