Historical Timeline
Year - 2004 (Founding and Controversial Rebranding): Formally founded on 21 June 2004 in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. The club was established following the controversial relocation of Wimbledon F.C. from south London in 2003, authorised by an FA committee. Following the acquisition of the club, which was in administration, by Pete Winkelman’s consortium, the franchise was renamed Milton Keynes Dons F.C., adopting an all-white kit with gold trim and formally severing ties with the records and history of the original London side.

The construction of the stadium marked the definitive consolidation of the sports and property development project in Milton Keynes, providing the new city with one of the most cutting-edge sports facilities in English football.
