Historical Timeline
Year - 1897 (Foundation and Origins of Colours): Founded in 1897 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, under the name Mansfield Wesleyans, on the initiative of Frederick Abraham and Thomas Cripwell, members of the Methodist church on Bridge Street. They initially wore chocolate-brown and sky-blue stripes. In 1906, they broke away from the parish to become a professional club as Mansfield Wesley, and in 1910, they adopted the name Mansfield Town F.C. They made their home at the historic Field Mill (One Call Stadium), which had been used for football since 1861. In 1919, they adopted the colours amber and blue, which led to their nicknames ‘The Ambers’ and ‘The Stags’ (referring to the stag on the local coat of arms and the club’s proximity to Sherwood Forest).

Year - 2008 (The Painful Relegation after 77 Years): After enduring a series of financial and sporting crises, at the end of the 2007–08 season the club was relegated to the Conference Premier (fifth tier), bringing to an end an uninterrupted 77-year spell in the Football League, with relegation becoming a mathematical certainty on 26 April 2008 following a defeat to Rotherham United.

Year - 2013 (Return to professional football against Wrexham): The club regained its professional status in the Football League by winning the Conference Premier title in the 2012–13 season.
