Historical Timeline
Year - 1937 (Foundation and Origins of Colores): Founded in 1937 in the historic town of Colchester, Essex, on the initiative of supporters and officials associated with the amateur club Colchester Town F.C. (founded in 1873). The aim of the new organisation was to establish a professional sporting structure, which the previous club lacked. The club adopted the name Colchester United F.C. to symbolise the unification of the town’s footballing interests, and wore blue and white stripes in honour of the traditional colours of the former amateur club, which were a reference to the town’s military garrison.

Year - 1971 (The ‘Giant-Killers’ Feat): On 13 February 1971, the club achieved national fame by knocking out Don Revie’s Leeds United – one of the most powerful teams in Europe at the time – 3–2 in the FA Cup round of 16. This victory cemented the club’s reputation as ‘Giant Killers’ in English football.

Year - 2006 (Promotion to the Championship and Relocation): In the 2005–06 season, under manager Phil Parkinson, the club secured promotion to the EFL Championship (second tier), achieving its best-ever finish in 2007 by finishing in tenth place.
