Historical Timeline
Year - 1950 (Foundation and Origins of Colores): Founded on 5 July 1950 following a public meeting at Burton upon Trent Town Hall, Staffordshire, which was attended by around 700 citizens. The initiative was led by Walter Slater and the journalist Alf Moss with the aim of reviving professional football in the town following the post-war hiatus. They adopted the name Burton Albion F.C. and wore yellow and black shirts, colours closely associated with barley crops and the town’s historic beer production, the origin of their nickname ‘The Brewers’.
